Iran has warned US troops against carrying out what it called “manifestly unlawful” orders amid rising tensions between Washington and Tehran.
The warning comes as US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Iran would continue to pay a higher price until its leaders change course.
Rubio also said Tehran was not currently ready to reach a deal with the United States.
Iran’s latest warning has further escalated tensions between the two countries.
The exchange of threats has raised concerns about a possible further deterioration in regional security and stability.
