Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has accused the United States of miscalculating the war and the situation around the Strait of Hormuz, blaming intelligence failures for Washington’s assessment.
Araghchi said the US had underestimated Iran’s capabilities and failed to accurately assess the consequences of its actions.
Meanwhile, the head of Iran’s paramilitary forces claimed that the Strait of Hormuz is under Iranian control, according to Fars news agency.
The comments highlight the growing strategic importance of the waterway, a major route for global energy shipments, amid continuing tensions between Tehran and Washington.
The claims could further raise concerns over regional security, oil supplies and international shipping, as diplomatic efforts to ease the confrontation remain uncertain.
