Iran has announced plans to establish a restricted zone around the Strait of Hormuz, according to Iranian official Mohsen Rezaei, as tensions in the strategically vital waterway continue to rise.
Rezaei said Tehran would also focus on addressing economic challenges while warning that any further attacks against Iran would trigger a more painful response.
The Strait of Hormuz remains a crucial route for global energy shipments, making any restrictions in the area a major concern for international markets and oil supplies.
The announcement comes amid heightened regional tensions, with governments and energy traders closely monitoring developments around the key maritime passage.
