India is in early-stage discussions to export its supersonic BrahMos missile to the United Arab Emirates, according to sources familiar with the matter.
The talks are reported to be progressing rapidly, although they remain preliminary. Alongside the missile system, discussions are also said to include the potential sale of the Akashteer air defence system, which is designed to integrate and manage battlefield air defence operations.
Officials have not publicly confirmed the negotiations, but defence industry sources suggest the UAE has shown interest in expanding its advanced weapons portfolio amid evolving regional security dynamics.
If concluded, the deal would mark a significant step in India’s growing defence exports and deepen strategic defence cooperation between New Delhi and Abu Dhabi.
