Tensions between Iran and the United States have sharply escalated as both sides exchange missile and drone strikes across the Gulf region, raising fears of wider conflict.

Iran reportedly launched drone attacks targeting Kuwait International Airport, causing damage and injuries, while Bahrain said it intercepted multiple missiles aimed at civilian sites. In response, US forces carried out strikes on Iranian-linked targets near the Strait of Hormuz, including a vessel and installations on Qeshm Island.

Tehran has blamed Gulf states for enabling US operations, while Kuwait and Bahrain have condemned the attacks and reserved the right to respond. Several regional countries, including Qatar and Saudi Arabia, have urged restraint and de-escalation.

The renewed hostilities have disrupted regional stability and pushed oil prices higher amid concerns over global supply routes, especially through the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

Diplomatic efforts between Washington and Tehran remain stalled, with both sides trading blame and insisting they are acting in self-defence.
