Team to face Mali behind closed doors as preparations continue ahead of Group C campaign

Iran national football team will play its final World Cup warm-up match against Mali national football team behind closed doors in Turkiye on Thursday before departing for its tournament base in Mexico on Saturday.
According to the Football Federation Islamic Republic of Iran, the match will be closed to media and spectators to allow the coaching staff to focus on tactical preparations.
Iran has held training camps in Antalya and played three friendlies, losing to Nigeria while defeating Costa Rica and Gambia.
The team will be based in Tijuana during the tournament and will travel to the United States for its group-stage fixtures.
Iran has been drawn in Group C alongside New Zealand national football team, Belgium national football team and Egypt national football team.
The Iranian side is scheduled to begin its World Cup campaign against New Zealand on June 15.
