Maritime Affairs Minister Junaid Anwar Chaudhry said the revised tariff structure is aimed at increasing international transit and trans-shipment traffic through the port.
Under the new measures, berthing charges for container vessels will be reduced by 25%, while port charges for international trans-shipment containers will be cut by 40%.
The minister also announced a reduction of up to 31% in port charges for transit container cargo. Additionally, a one-month free storage facility has been introduced for general cargo.
Junaid Anwar Chaudhry described the incentives as among the most attractive offered by any national port in the country, adding that the government had begun implementing its broader policy to transform Gwadar into a regional logistics and trade hub.
According to the minister, the revised tariff structure is expected to lower operational costs for shipping companies and encourage greater cargo movement through the port.
He added that increased activity at Gwadar Port could stimulate economic growth and create new employment opportunities, particularly in the logistics and transport sectors.
Gwadar Port Chairman Noorul Haq Baloch said the new tariff package would support trade promotion and generate additional job opportunities across Balochistan.
