Pakistan invites Chinese companies to invest in Special Economic Zones under CPEC 2.0, with focus on AI, IT, trade, and industrial growth.

Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday assured Chinese companies of full government support to expand their businesses in Pakistan and strengthen economic ties between the two countries.
Speaking at the headquarters of IBI Corporation in Beijing, the prime minister highlighted investment opportunities in Pakistan’s Special Economic Zones under CPEC 2.0.
He emphasized the importance of increasing cooperation in trade, technology, and industrial development between Pakistan and China. He said stronger business relations remain a key part of the long-standing partnership between the two countries.
Referring to a recent visit by an IBI delegation to Islamabad, Shehbaz Sharif assured the company of complete facilitation for business growth and future investments in Pakistan.
The prime minister said Artificial Intelligence and Information Technology are among Pakistan’s top priority sectors under CPEC 2.0. He added that the government is working quickly to promote innovation and digital development.
Addressing young participants at the event, he stressed the importance of technical education and skills training for Pakistani youth. He said young people would play a major role in strengthening future Pakistan-China cooperation.
Shehbaz Sharif also invited Chinese investors to visit the Special Economic Zone near Port Qasim in Karachi. He described the 6,000-acre project as a promising hub with modern infrastructure and business facilities.
Upon his arrival at the event, the prime minister was welcomed by Wang Shaofeng and Qian Xiaojun.
More than 150 Chinese companies and business representatives attended the meeting focused on industrial cooperation and cross-border investment between Pakistan and China.
