The government has selected international banking consortiums to lead a planned $2 billion sovereign bond issuance as Pakistan moves to diversify its external financing sources.
Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb held a virtual meeting with the leadership of the selected banking consortiums from Washington, discussing preparations for the planned bond offering and coordination on the transaction.
The planned issuance is aimed at raising funds from international capital markets, strengthening foreign exchange reserves and supporting the country’s broader financing strategy.
Officials said the engagement reflects Pakistan’s efforts to deepen access to global investors and improve market confidence as the government pursues economic reforms and fiscal stability.
