The government has launched a new app under its retailer scheme as part of efforts to bring more businesses into the formal tax system and widen the country’s tax base.

The initiative aims to make tax registration and compliance easier for retailers while encouraging more businesses to become part of the documented economy.

Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb said the government is also working to simplify tax return filing for salaried individuals. The move is aimed at making the tax process more straightforward and reducing the burden on taxpayers.

Officials hope that easier digital services and simpler procedures will encourage greater compliance and help strengthen government revenues without placing unnecessary pressure on existing taxpayers.
