Gold prices moved higher in both local and global markets, recovering from the previous session’s losses as investors returned to the precious metal amid ongoing economic and geopolitical uncertainty.
The rebound came after Wednesday’s decline, when the price of gold per tola fell by Rs1,000 in the domestic market.
Internationally, gold also edged upward, supported by a softer dollar and renewed demand for safe-haven assets as traders monitored global economic indicators and geopolitical developments.
Local bullion dealers said domestic prices generally follow movements in the international market, with exchange-rate fluctuations and investor sentiment also influencing retail gold rates in Pakistan.
Analysts noted that gold remains sensitive to expectations regarding US interest rates, inflation trends and global political tensions, factors that continue to drive short-term volatility in the precious-metals market.
