Egyptian football federation seeks investigation and removal of officiating team following controversial defeat to Argentina.

Egypt’s football federation has lodged an official complaint with FIFA after its 3-2 World Cup defeat to Argentina. Federation president Hany Aburida demanded an investigation into French referee Francois Letexier and the entire officiating team.
The complaint followed several controversial decisions during the last-16 match. A Mostafa Ziko goal was ruled out after VAR detected an earlier foul on Lisandro Martinez. Ziko later scored again, giving Egypt a 2-0 advantage.
Egypt also argued they deserved a late penalty after Alexis Mac Allister allegedly pulled Hamdy Fathy before Argentina’s winning goal by Enzo Fernandez. The federation claimed officials ignored footage supporting Egypt’s case.
Aburida called for the referees to be removed from the tournament if mistakes were confirmed. Egypt coach Hossam Hassan also criticized the officiating, saying his team had been treated unfairly and suggesting Argentina received favorable decisions.
