AKKI MARWAT: At least seven people were killed and more than 18 others injured in an explosion near Naurang police station in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Lakki Marwat district on Tuesday, according to police and hospital authorities.

Police said the blast occurred near a rickshaw in Naurang Bazaar in the Sarai Naurang area, causing panic and chaos in the busy market.
Hospital officials confirmed that the bodies of seven victims were shifted to Naurang Hospital, adding that two traffic police personnel were also among those martyred in the explosion.
According to the hospital administration, several injured women and children were among those brought in for treatment.
Following the incident, an emergency was declared at Sarai Naurang Hospital to handle the influx of casualties.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the nature of the blast, while security in the area has been tightened.
