According to a statement shared by the Foreign Office on X, Dar highlighted Pakistan’s role in facilitating communication between the United States and Iran and expressed hope that ongoing diplomatic efforts would help promote peace and stability in the region and beyond.
The deputy prime minister also appreciated continued US assistance in the repatriation of Pakistani and Iranian seafarers through Singapore.
The meeting comes amid heightened regional tensions following recent developments in US-Iran diplomacy.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump rejected Iran’s latest peace terms, describing them as “totally unacceptable” and increasing concerns about renewed conflict after weeks of negotiations.
Iran had responded to Washington’s proposal while warning it would retaliate against any new US strikes and oppose the deployment of additional foreign naval forces in the Strait of Hormuz.
