Preity Zinta has been allowed by the Bombay High Court to proceed with her case against Google and Meta over alleged deepfake misuse of her identity.
The case is part of a growing wave of legal action by Indian actors seeking stronger protection against the use of artificial intelligence to replicate their likeness without consent.
Zinta argues that such content can damage personal reputation and mislead the public.
The court’s decision allows the matter to move forward for further hearings and examination of the claims.
