Argentina national football team has arrived in Kansas City, becoming the first of four World Cup teams to reach the city ahead of the tournament.

Fans gathered at Berkley Riverfront to welcome the squad, with many turning out to catch a glimpse of Lionel Messi and the rest of the team.

The squad landed on Sunday, May 31, 2026, aboard a specially painted Airbus A330 featuring Argentina’s blue and white colours and three gold stars representing their World Cup titles.

Argentina will begin training at Sporting Kansas City’s Compass Minerals National Performance Center from June 1 as they prepare for their title defence.

The team is based across the state line at the Berkley Riverfront in Missouri, while other World Cup teams are expected to arrive in the region this week.

Argentina will open their campaign against Algeria on June 16 at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.
