Aleema Khan on Thursday expressed concerns over the prison conditions of Imran Khan, claiming there were fears that the PTI founder may have been poisoned while in custody.
Speaking outside an anti-terrorism court in Lahore, she alleged that Imran Khan was being kept in isolation under conditions she described as unprecedented for a political leader. She also said neither the family nor the former prime minister had held meetings regarding ongoing political developments.
Aleema criticised sections of the party leadership and reiterated that the family would continue speaking out on Imran Khan’s behalf. She also questioned the effectiveness of political negotiations currently taking place.
Separately, the court extended interim bail until July 9 for Aleema Khan and several PTI leaders, including Asad Umar, Fawad Chaudhry and Azam Swati, in multiple cases linked to the May 9 unrest.
