Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called for greater international cooperation to address climate-related disasters during a meeting with the UN’s top humanitarian official.
He emphasized the need for stronger global support to help vulnerable countries respond to the growing impact of climate change. The meeting focused on disaster preparedness and humanitarian cooperation.
Separately, the prime minister reviewed monsoon preparedness with the chairman of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). He directed authorities to strengthen coordination with provincial governments.
PM Shehbaz instructed all relevant departments to remain alert during the monsoon season. He said timely planning and effective coordination are essential to protecting lives and property.
