The Wimbledon prize money fund has been increased by 20% to a record £64.2 million for the 2026 tournament, the All England Club announced on Thursday.
Under the new structure, the men’s and women’s singles champions will each receive £3.6 million, while players losing in the first round will earn £80,000.
Wimbledon organisers said the increase reflects continued investment in players across all rounds, with more than £5 million allocated to first-round participants alone.
The announcement comes ahead of the tournament starting on June 29, with reigning champions Jannik Sinner and Iga Swiatek set to defend their titles.
Officials from the All England Club said the rise in prize money is part of a broader strategy to share tournament revenue more widely while continuing to invest in facilities and grassroots tennis.
