Pakistan’s security forces killed six militants during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Panjgur district of Balochistan, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The military’s media wing said the operation targeted reported hideouts of India-backed militants. Multiple locations were engaged during the raid, leading to an exchange of fire in which all six suspects were killed.
Security officials recovered weapons, ammunition, improvised explosive devices, and vehicles from the site. A sanitisation operation is ongoing to clear the area of any remaining threats.
ISPR said the operation is part of the broader counter-terrorism campaign under the national strategy “Azm-e-Istehkam,” aimed at eliminating foreign-sponsored militancy from the country.
The latest action follows recent operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where additional militants were killed in separate engagements in Dera Ismail Khan and Mohmand districts.
Authorities say counter-terrorism efforts have been intensified in Balochistan following a series of recent attacks, including a deadly railway track explosion near Quetta.
Security forces continue to conduct intelligence-based operations across the region amid ongoing security challenges in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
