A case has been registered against Punjab Assembly member Saqib Chadhar under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) following allegations of cyber harassment, blackmail and threats involving actor and model Momina Iqbal.

The case was lodged by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) after Iqbal approached authorities with a formal complaint.

According to the FIR, Chadhar and several associates allegedly harassed the actor online, issued threats to her and her family, and attempted blackmail through private videos and personal data. The complaint also claims unlawful surveillance and repeated intimidation.

Investigators allege that threatening messages were sent to Iqbal, her husband, and other family members, and traced to a phone number linked to the lawmaker. Digital evidence, including videos and a mobile device, has been taken into custody for forensic analysis.

The FIR further states that Chadhar allegedly deleted data from his phone before submitting it to investigators.

Iqbal had earlier approached police in Lahore, alleging harassment and death threats after rejecting a marriage proposal. She has since confirmed her marriage took place earlier this week.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing under cybercrime laws.
