Speaking at the passing-out parade of the 150th course at the National Defence Academy (NDA) in Khadakwasla on Saturday, General Dwivedi said there is currently a temporary cessation of hostilities, but the Indian military remains operationally alert and prepared for any future escalation.

According to Indian media reports, the army chief stated that the Indian Army, in coordination with the Air Force and Navy, is focused on strengthening joint-service cooperation, enhancing combat readiness, and adapting to the evolving requirements of modern warfare.

General Dwivedi highlighted the increasingly transparent nature of contemporary battlefields, noting that advances in surveillance and intelligence technologies have made military movements visible to adversaries in near real time.

“Twenty-four hours a day, the battlefield is so transparent that every movement is known to the other side,” he said, emphasizing the importance of careful operational planning and the protection of both military personnel and civilians in border areas.

The Indian army chief also underscored the growing significance of information warfare in modern conflicts. He said national unity and trust in credible sources of information are essential factors in strengthening a country’s resilience during times of conflict.

His remarks come amid continuing tensions between India and Pakistan following last year’s military confrontation, despite the current pause in hostilities.
