Direct air travel between Iraq and Pakistan has resumed after an 86-day suspension, restoring an important travel link between the two countries.

Iraqi Airways flight IA-409 from Baghdad landed in Karachi at 4:53am, marking the return of scheduled operations on the route. The return flight, IA-410, later departed Karachi for Baghdad at 7:14am.

The service had been suspended for nearly three months following regional tensions linked to attacks involving Iran, which disrupted air routes across parts of the Middle East.

According to aviation sources, the last regular Baghdad–Karachi flight had operated in February before services were halted due to the situation.

With operations now restarted, Iraqi Airways has also announced plans to expand services by launching direct flights between Baghdad and Islamabad in the near future.

The resumption is expected to improve travel convenience and strengthen connectivity between Pakistan and Iraq.
