Pakistan, Qatar discuss regional security and diplomatic coordination

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Monday held a telephone conversation with Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Mohammad bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi to discuss regional security developments and matters of mutual interest.

According to official details, both sides exchanged views on the evolving regional situation amid continuing geopolitical tensions and emphasised the importance of dialogue and diplomatic engagement in addressing regional challenges.

Qatari Minister Al-Khulaifi appreciated Pakistan’s constructive diplomatic role and its efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability in the region.

During the conversation, Ishaq Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to advancing shared objectives of peace, stability, and prosperity through continued cooperation and diplomacy.

The latest diplomatic engagement follows a separate telephonic conversation held on Sunday between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani.

During their discussion, the two leaders reviewed the evolving regional and international situation and discussed issues of mutual interest.

Prime Minister Shehbaz thanked the Qatari leadership for supporting Pakistan-led peace efforts focused on de-escalation and regional stability. He also praised Qatar’s active role in regional diplomacy and mediation initiatives.

Both leaders agreed on the need for continued coordination and dialogue among regional stakeholders to address shared challenges and maintain stability.

The prime minister also conveyed greetings to the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and said he looked forward to welcoming him to Pakistan on an official visit in the near future.

The two sides agreed to maintain regular high-level contacts to follow up on the discussions and strengthen bilateral cooperation.
