Pink Scooties Distributed Among Women in Hyderabad Under Sindh Government Initiative

The Sindh Government has launched a women-focused transport initiative in Hyderabad, distributing “Pink Scooties” among women, according to reports.

Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon handed over scooties to women during a ceremony held in Hyderabad. Speaking on the occasion, he highlighted various provincial initiatives aimed at improving mobility and empowerment for women.

He said that women are being provided training and driving licences, while the scooties are being distributed free of cost on merit to deserving applicants. He also claimed that Pakistan is the only country where such free scooty schemes for women are being implemented.

Memon further announced that female lawyers will also be included in the “Pink Scooty” programme and said that special transport services, including dedicated buses for women, have been introduced.

On broader development issues, he stated that affordable electricity could be generated through coal and added that several development projects are currently underway in Sindh. He also said that public transport facilities will be expanded across the province to improve mobility.

Referring to drug-related concerns, the minister said strict action is being taken against narcotics across Sindh as part of an ongoing crackdown. He also made remarks about an individual he accused of spreading “poison” in society, without providing further details.

The event was attended by several provincial and local officials, including members of the provincial assembly and senior administrative officers.
