Former Australia batter Mike Hussey is considering a potential role with England ahead of next year’s Ashes after being approached by newly appointed Test coach Stephen Fleming.
Hussey said Fleming informally sounded him out about becoming England’s batting coach, drawing on their long professional relationship at Chennai Super Kings.
The former Australia star has not made a final decision but said he remains open to coaching players regardless of their nationality. He acknowledged that working against his home country would feel unusual but stressed that his focus would be on helping England’s players improve.
Hussey also praised Fleming’s coaching style, saying he expects the new England boss to retain an attacking approach while bringing greater balance and control to the team.
