World Leaders Welcome US-Iran Peace Deal, Praise Pakistan’s Mediation

World leaders have welcomed the US-Iran peace agreement, calling it a major diplomatic achievement and praising Pakistan’s role in the negotiations.

The deal, announced by US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, aims to end the conflict, reopen the Strait of Hormuz, and restore regional stability. The agreement will be formally signed in Switzerland on June 19.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres described the agreement as a significant step toward peace. He thanked Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, Egypt and other countries for supporting the talks.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called the deal an important development for regional peace. He praised Pakistan’s mediation efforts and acknowledged support from Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer welcomed the agreement and congratulated President Trump and the mediating countries, including Pakistan and Qatar.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese also welcomed the deal, saying diplomacy and restraint are essential for lasting peace.

French President Emmanuel Macron urged all sides to implement the agreement quickly and support the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz described the agreement as a diplomatic breakthrough that could strengthen regional security and the global economy.

Japan and New Zealand also praised the agreement, stressing the importance of dialogue and stability.

In a joint statement, the UK, France, Germany and Italy said they are prepared to consider lifting sanctions on Iran if progress is made on its nuclear programme.
