Steph Curry may have turned heads at the Met Gala 2026, but the NBA superstar admitted his mind was still on the basketball court.
The Golden State Warriors point guard arrived at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 4 alongside his wife, Ayesha Curry. The couple stepped out in coordinated Balenciaga looks aligned with the evening’s “Fashion Is Art” dress code.
Steph wore a black hooded trench coat layered over a sleek tailored suit, while Ayesha opted for a sheer strapless gown paired with leather gloves, delivering one of the night’s standout couple moments.
Despite the fashion spotlight, Curry told E! correspondent Zuri Hall that part of him would rather be playing the game he loves. “On one hand, I love it,” he said of the Met Gala experience. “On the other hand, that means I’m not playing basketball right now.”
He also praised the growing crossover between sports and fashion, noting how athletes are increasingly embracing the style world. “It’s fun to have a different crew and crowd of guys that I compete against showing themselves in the fashion world. It’s amazing,” he added.
The Currys previously attended the Met Gala in 2021, where they coordinated outfits for the “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion” theme.
Off the carpet, Ayesha has often spoken about her passion for fashion and self-expression, crediting her mother and grandmother for shaping her style sensibilities.
The couple, married since 2011, share four children: Riley (13), Ryan (10), Canon (7), and Caius (23 months).
