Former South Korean president Yoon Suk Yeol has been sentenced to 30 years in prison after a court ruled he was involved in a military drone operation over North Korea.
The court said the 2024 drone mission was used to support his failed attempt to impose martial law, and found him guilty of abuse of power and aiding the enemy.
Yoon denied the charges, saying he did not approve or order the operation and that it was unrelated to the martial law plan.
Already in custody, Yoon is expected to appeal the verdict.
