Speaking to journalists outside the Parliament House in Islamabad on Friday, he said significant public funds are spent on parliamentary sessions, while attendance and participation remain inconsistent.
He said it was the government’s responsibility to ensure quorum in the National Assembly, adding that lawmakers should not leave sessions after marking attendance.
Barrister Gohar stressed that parliamentarians’ allowances should be immediately withdrawn as part of broader austerity measures.
He also urged the government to reduce fuel prices and provide relief to citizens ahead of the Budget 2026–27, citing rising inflationary pressures and public hardship.
