Sources said the IMF plans to disburse approximately $2.62 billion to Pakistan during the fiscal year 2026-27, followed by an additional $1.47 billion in the fiscal year 2027-28.
According to the details, Pakistan is expected to receive around $2.09 billion under the IMF’s Extended Fund Facility (EFF) programme and approximately $530 million under the Climate Financing Programme during FY2026-27.
For FY2027-28, the IMF is likely to provide about $1.05 billion through the EFF programme, while an additional $420 million is expected under the Climate Financing Programme.
Pakistan is currently participating in two major IMF programmes: a $7 billion Extended Fund Facility (EFF) and a $1.4 billion Climate Financing Programme aimed at supporting economic stability and climate resilience initiatives.
The anticipated inflows are expected to help strengthen Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves and support the country’s ongoing economic reform agenda.
