Kate Middleton is said to have once shared a close bond with her brother-in-law Prince Harry and was reportedly saddened by the breakdown in relations between the Duke of Sussex and Prince William.
According to royal author Christopher Andersen, the Princess of Wales has been viewed by some as an advocate for reconciliation between the brothers. However, he claims that certain developments, including Harry’s legal battles over UK security arrangements and public remarks made in media interviews, strained those efforts.
In an interview with the BBC, Harry reflected on concerns about his father’s health, saying, “I don’t know how much longer my father has,” a comment Andersen suggests reportedly left Kate more disappointed than angry.
The author further alleges in his upcoming book that the situation marked a turning point in Kate’s approach to the ongoing rift, claiming she stepped back from attempts to mediate between William and Harry. Andersen also writes that Prince William had already distanced himself from his brother following the release of Spare, and was deeply angered by the ongoing tensions.
