England’s World Cup squad has recovered most of its stolen equipment after a theft incident in Kansas City ahead of the tournament.
Goalkeeper Dean Henderson confirmed that his boots, along with other missing items, had been returned before England’s first training session.
The equipment was stolen while being transported from the team’s training camp in Florida to its World Cup base in Kansas City.
Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas described the incident as a “heist” and said local, state and federal authorities quickly launched an investigation.
Two men, Mustafa Salik and Erfan Kamal, have been charged with receiving stolen property worth approximately $18,000.
According to prosecutors, the offence carries a maximum prison sentence of seven years under Missouri law.
Defender Dan Burn said players were largely unaffected by the incident, confirming that all of his kit and boots had been recovered.
England, managed by Thomas Tuchel, begin their World Cup campaign against Croatia on Wednesday before facing Ghana and Panama in Group L.
