ISLAMABAD: The Safe City project in Islamabad is being upgraded to transform the federal capital into a modern smart city, officials said.

According to authorities, the upgradation plan aims to enhance surveillance, improve law enforcement response, and integrate advanced digital monitoring systems across the city.
The project will expand camera coverage, upgrade command and control systems, and introduce improved data analytics to support real-time decision-making.
Officials said the initiative is designed to strengthen public safety, improve traffic management, and support efficient urban governance.
Once completed, the upgraded Safe City system is expected to make Islamabad more technologically advanced, secure, and better managed in line with smart city standards.
