The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) ended lower on Monday after a highly volatile session, as early buying momentum faded and investors booked profits across key sectors.
The benchmark KSE-100 index climbed sharply at the opening, supported by positive regional cues and easing oil prices, before touching an intraday high of 180,507 points.
However, the rally proved short-lived as selling pressure emerged in major sectors including banks, cement, and energy, pushing the index into negative territory.
By the close, the KSE-100 settled at 178,471 points, down 451 points or 0.25%, as investors remained cautious ahead of the upcoming holiday break.
