A UK minister has said the emerging US-Iran agreement highlights Pakistan’s growing role as a “champion of global peace” and an important diplomatic intermediary.

The remarks were made during a visit to Islamabad, where British Middle East Minister Hamish Falconer held talks with senior Pakistani officials.

According to the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, the visit included discussions on counter-terrorism cooperation, illegal migration, institutional collaboration and police training.

British officials also publicly acknowledged Pakistan’s involvement in facilitating dialogue that contributed to the US-Iran peace framework.

The UK side said Pakistan’s diplomatic engagement had helped create momentum for de-escalation in the Middle East, alongside other regional partners.

Alongside security cooperation, the two sides agreed to strengthen joint efforts to combat illegal migration and improve border management systems.

The visit reflects broader UK-Pakistan coordination on regional stability, with both countries signalling continued cooperation on security and diplomatic initiatives.

Officials said further collaboration would focus on sustaining the ceasefire process and supporting long-term regional peace efforts.
