Kylian Mbappe scored twice as France beat Senegal 3-1 in their opening Group I match on Tuesday.

After a difficult first half, France improved after the break. Mbappe opened the scoring in the 66th minute, finishing a superb pass from Michael Olise.

Substitute Bradley Barcola added a second goal late in the game. Senegal responded through Ibrahim Mbaye in stoppage time.

Mbappe sealed the victory moments later with a stunning long-range strike. The goal made him France’s all-time leading scorer with 58 goals.

Olise played a key role in the win after moving into a central position. His creativity helped France take control of the match.

Mbappe’s double lifted his World Cup tally to 14 goals. He now trails only Ronaldo (15) and Miroslav Klose (16) on the all-time list.

France will next face Iraq before taking on Norway as they aim to reach the knockout stage.
