China has renewed its appeal for the United States and Iran to stop hostilities and return to diplomatic talks, expressing deep concern over the worsening conflict.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said military confrontation would only escalate tensions and urged both sides to respect sovereignty and avoid further escalation. He called for an immediate ceasefire and a return to negotiations through political and diplomatic channels.
Beijing said it has maintained contact with relevant parties, including Iran, and is working to support peace efforts amid ongoing exchanges of strikes between the two countries.
