The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a heatwave alert warning that moderate to severe heatwave conditions are likely to continue across most districts of Sindh until June 12. In Karachi, hot and humid weather is expected over the next few days, with sea breezes and westerly winds providing limited relief. Temperatures in the city are forecast to rise from around 38°C today to 40°C on Wednesday and up to 42°C on Thursday.

The alert also highlights extreme conditions in several interior districts, where temperatures may surge between 48°C and 51°C. Areas including Sukkur, Jacobabad, Larkana, Dadu, Khairpur and others are expected to remain under intense heat stress. In southern and central districts such as Hyderabad, Mirpur Khas and Badin, temperatures are likely to stay between 42°C and 45°C during the warning period. The department also cautioned that the intense heat may trigger dust-raising winds and occasional dust storms in some parts of the province.
