CDF Asim Munir Vows to Continue Fight Against Terrorism Until Complete Eradication

Field Marshal honours martyrs and heroes, reiterates Pakistan’s commitment to lasting peace

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir has reaffirmed that Pakistan’s fight against terrorism will persist with full strength until lasting peace is achieved.

The statement came during a prestigious military awards ceremony held at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, where officers and soldiers were honoured for acts of bravery and distinguished service. Field Marshal Munir, attending as chief guest, presented 50 Sitara-e-Imtiaz awards and 12 Tamgha-e-Basalat medals, including posthumous awards received by the families of martyrs.

Paying tribute to the nation’s martyrs and war veterans, he said their sacrifices are a sacred trust for every Pakistani and that the country’s peace and security are built on their unwavering commitment. He also acknowledged the resilience and dedication of the families of martyrs.

Field Marshal Munir further commended the operational readiness of the armed forces and law enforcement agencies, emphasizing Pakistan’s resolute determination to eradicate terrorism and uphold national security.
