A revised Iran peace proposal drafted by Pakistan and Qatar triggered a tense call between US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Axios reported. The draft aims to bridge gaps between Washington and Tehran amid ongoing negotiations to end the war.

Netanyahu remains skeptical and reportedly wants to resume military action to weaken Iran’s infrastructure and military capabilities. Trump, however, continues to support negotiations while warning that war could resume if talks fail.

Regional mediators, including Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, and Egypt, have worked to refine the proposal. Iran is reviewing the draft while seeking clear commitments on its nuclear program and assurances on frozen funds.

A US source described Tuesday’s call as “lengthy and difficult,” with Netanyahu “hair on fire” after disagreements over the path forward. Trump emphasized that the war could resume quickly but is willing to wait a few more days for negotiations.

Iran insists on the release of frozen funds and an end to US “piracy” at sea, while Israel seeks cessation of hostilities in Lebanon. Trump noted that a “letter of intent” could formalize a 30-day negotiation period if both sides agree.
