The envoy said Islamabad is exploring ways to expand energy cooperation with Moscow as regional tensions threaten global oil supply routes and market stability.
The Strait of Hormuz remains a key shipping corridor for global energy supplies, and recent instability in the region has raised fears of disruptions in oil transportation.
Officials believe increasing imports from Russia could help Pakistan diversify its energy sources and reduce pressure from fluctuating international oil prices.
Pakistan has already imported limited quantities of discounted Russian crude in recent years as part of efforts to manage its energy costs and foreign exchange burden.
