According to a notification issued by the KP Director Health Services, the recruitment will be carried out under the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) on a contract basis.

Officials said Rs253.16 million has been allocated for the hiring process, with selected vaccinators to receive a monthly salary of Rs40,000.

District Health Officers have been instructed to complete the recruitment process as soon as possible. The appointments will be made temporarily for the 2025–26 financial year under the Initial Appointment Rules for Civil Servants 2026.

The Health Department has also released district-wise details of vacant positions as part of the recruitment drive aimed at strengthening immunisation coverage across the province.

The development comes amid renewed concerns over polio cases in Pakistan. Earlier this month, two new cases were reported from Bannu and North Waziristan, raising the nationwide tally for 2026 to three.

According to sources at the National Institute of Health, one case was detected in Jani Khel, Bannu, while another emerged from Gariom in North Waziristan.

Officials said both union councils remain inaccessible for polio teams due to security concerns, hampering vaccination campaigns in the affected areas.
