Nepal’s flood death toll has climbed beyond 900, with rescue teams intensifying efforts to reach hundreds of people believed to be trapped inside tunnels at hydropower projects. Officials say around 900 workers remain unaccounted for at several damaged facilities, with thick mud and debris making rescue operations extremely difficult.
The disaster has affected more than 90,000 people, according to the Red Cross, while thousands remain missing across Nepal and Tibet. Rescue operations are being carried out with support from specialists from India and China as authorities race against time to reach those trapped underground and provide emergency assistance to devastated communities.
