The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) moved lower on Friday as profit-taking and rising global oil prices weighed on investor sentiment.
The KSE-100 index dropped more than 450 points by midday, with selling pressure emerging across several key sectors as investors moved to secure recent gains.
Market participants remained cautious as higher crude prices raised concerns over potential impacts on import costs, inflation and overall economic conditions.
Analysts said investors were closely monitoring international developments, particularly energy market trends, while banking, industrial and other major sectors faced selling pressure.
Despite the decline, traders said market activity remained supported by selective buying, with investors watching for fresh economic indicators and global cues to determine the next market direction.
