Trump indicated that economic issues, trade relations, and market access would be key topics during discussions between the two leaders.
The meeting comes at a time of continuing tensions between Washington and Beijing over tariffs, global trade, technology, and regional security matters.
Officials say both sides are expected to discuss broader geopolitical issues as well, including the Middle East situation and global economic stability.
The summit is being closely watched by international markets and diplomats for signs of easing tensions between the world’s two largest economies.
