Prime Video confirms Invincible Season 5 won’t arrive until 2027
Prime Video’s animated series Invincible has been renewed for Season 5 in July 2025, but fans will have to wait longer than expected for Mark Grayson’s return, with the next instalment now confirmed for early 2027.
The series continues to follow its extended production cycle. Co-creator Robert Kirkman explained that voice recording is completed years in advance, with Season 5 already recorded while earlier seasons were still being promoted.
He noted that the show’s heavy animation workload and post-production process require significant time, adding that “the voice recording is done first, so that was done years ago,” and that the team is now in the final stages of production.
While earlier seasons saw gaps of up to two and a half years, the release schedule has gradually tightened, making an early 2027 launch more likely.
No exact release date has been announced yet, but Kirkman suggested the new season could arrive anywhere from January to May 2027, depending on final scheduling decisions.
Season 4, which premiered on March 18, established a rough annual release pattern, leading to expectations that Season 5 would follow a similar timeframe.
The Season 4 finale, titled Don’t Leave Me Hanging Here, sets up several major storylines, including escalating threats and new character arcs. The episode also introduces key developments involving villains such as Dinosaurus and Thragg, hinting at higher stakes for the upcoming season.
Kirkman emphasized that production is progressing smoothly, with the team focused on maintaining quality as the series moves forward.
