Pakistan Launches “AI Seekho 2026” to Upskill Youth in Artificial Intelligence

(Web Desk) – The government has officially launched “AI Seekho 2026,” a nationwide training initiative designed to equip Pakistan’s youth with cutting-edge skills in Artificial Intelligence. Introduced by the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, the program is a collaborative effort involving Google for Developers, Telenor Pakistan, and the IT firm Innovista.

The program introduces a modern hands-on approach known as “vibe coding.” Unlike traditional programming, vibe coding allows users to use AI tools like Google AI Studio and Antigravity to generate code through natural language prompts rather than writing every line manually. This makes the technology accessible to both tech experts and those from non-technical backgrounds.

Key Highlights of the Program:

  • Massive Scale: The government aims to train over a million people overall, with a specific initial target of upskilling 100,000 developers with direct support from Google.
  • Economic Links: Participants will be connected to National Incubation Centers (NICs), the Pakistan Startup Fund, and various global platforms to help them find jobs or launch their own startups.
  • Inclusivity: IT Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja emphasized that AI is no longer just for “tech people,” noting its growing importance across all sectors of the economy.

This launch follows Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent pledge to invest $1 billion in AI by 2030. With the National AI Policy already in place and the recent launch of a sovereign AI cloud, “AI Seekho 2026” is the latest step in Pakistan’s strategy to modernize its digital economy and empower its large young population.
