King Charles issues important update on significant royal day

King Charles has announced the names of 186 British businesses recognised in this year’s King’s Awards for Enterprise, marking a significant royal occasion.

The announcement coincides with the third anniversary of the King’s coronation and also falls on Prince Archie’s seventh birthday.

The awards honour companies demonstrating outstanding achievement across various sectors of the UK economy, highlighting their contribution to growth and innovation.

Originally launched in 1965 and first presented in 1966, the honours have recognised more than 8,000 businesses over the decades. Previously known as the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, the programme was renamed following King Charles’s accession, reflecting continuity with Queen Elizabeth II’s legacy.

This year’s recipients include eight Scottish companies, among them Walker’s Shortbread and the Edinburgh Remakery.

The King’s Awards for Enterprise are among the UK’s most prestigious business honours, celebrating organisations that make a meaningful impact on economic development and society.
