The R-rated workplace romance became Netflix’s top film globally within a day of release.

Jennifer Lopez has made a successful return to the romantic-comedy genre with Office Romance, which quickly became Netflix’s most-watched movie worldwide and in the US.
Released on June 5, the film stars Lopez as Jackie Cruz, a powerful airline CEO who falls for company lawyer Daniel Blanchflower, played by Brett Goldstein. Their romance develops amid workplace rules and a corporate scandal.
Goldstein, best known for Ted Lasso, co-wrote the screenplay with Joe Kelly. He revealed the script was written specifically for Lopez, who was their first and only choice for the lead role.
Lopez said Jackie Cruz is different from many of her previous characters, portraying a successful executive who has already achieved personal and professional success before finding love.
The film also sparked rumours of an off-screen romance between Lopez and Goldstein, but both actors dismissed the speculation.
Despite mixed reviews from critics, audiences have embraced Office Romance, making it one of Netflix’s biggest film debuts of the year and reinforcing Lopez’s appeal in the romantic-comedy genre.
